Public - City
Power Rd, Mesa, AZ
The proposed improvements are as follows: In 2023 the City of Mesa, with partner agencies Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) and the Town of Gilbert, completed a design concept report (DCR) that identified the improvement needs for the corridor from the north side of the SR 202 (approximately 1/2 mile south of Warner Road) to the south side of the East Maricopa Floodway (EMF). The development of this roadway will add roadway capacity and connectivity in this rapidly developing area. The project is currently funded with local funds. However, federal funding may be utilized for construction based on funding availability and timing of the project. The plan for funding will be finalized through the IGA process. If federal funding is incorporated into the project all appropriate federal requirements will apply including but not limited to environmental, right of way, and utility requirements and clearances. The proposed roadway improvements include the following: o A fully improved 6-lane section with bike lanes, a raised landscaped median with irrigation, and dual left turns at arterial intersections. o New full-depth asphalt pavement o Storm drain, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and commercial driveways o Streetlight improvements o Traffic signals at Nunneley Road, Warner Road, Elliot Road and traffic improvements as needed. o Intersection improvements with ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps and pedestrian equipment o Signing and pavement marking o The incorporation of any recently completed half-street improvements by adjacent developments. o Water, gas, and sewer improvements as required. o Private utility coordination o Right of way acquisition support o And other miscellaneous improvements, as needed. o Federal requirements application and support (if federal funding is utilized). The estimated construction budget for the project is $55,000,000. Construction is anticipated using the CMAR delivery method. However, if federal funding is applied to the project, the construction will be low bid
