The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen, District) is pleased to announce the opportunity to provide Timber Harvest Plan preparation services for the La Honda Forest Health Project at La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve. Located on the San Francisco Peninsula, Midpen is a public agency that owns and manages approximately 70,000 acres of land in 27 open space preserves across portions of San Mateo, Santa Clara, and San Mateo counties. Midpen's mission is to acquire and preserve a regional greenbelt of open space land in perpetuity, protect and restore the natural environment, and provide opportunities for ecologically sensitive public enjoyment and education. On the Coast, Midpen has an expanded mission to acquire and preserve agricultural land of regional significance, preserve rural character, and encourage viable agricultural uses of land resources. Midpen's preserves are open to the public year-round and contain many diverse ecosystems including redwood, oak, and fir forests, chaparral-covered hillsides, riparian corridors, grasslands, and shore frontage along San Francisco Bay. La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve (Preserve) is located in the northwestern portion of Midpen's boundary, west of Highways 35 and 84, in San Mateo County.
