Reference Number 0000333754 The City of Providence (the City) is making grants available to local orga00000000nizations to support efforts to reduce litter in the City. Grants of up to $25,000 are available to organizations that perform cleaning and litter pick-up activities intended to enhance the cleanliness of public spaces in high volume commercial corridors throughout Providence (private properties cannot be targeted using this funding). Total funding available is $150,000. The City is seeking highly qualified non-profit organizations and/or independent contractors to participate in this initiative. Organizations can utilize their own employees or solicit volunteers for ongoing efforts (or a combination of both). Programs should target areas of the city that are disproportionately affected by litter and illegal dumping. Organizations that work citywide can submit multiple proposals to serve various areas of the city. The City's Department of Public Works will work with these additional supportive organizations to remove trash collected as part of these efforts and ensure it is properly disposed of. To that end, the City is soliciting vendors that have the ability, experience and willingness to collaborate to ensure a successful program. The grant program and the criteria for evaluating and prioritizing applications are designed to enhance the cleanliness of our City. Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis pursuant to this RFP.
