One of the 750-gallon hot water storage tanks at the building has failed and needs to be replaced. This report details the scope of work required to accomplish this. All work shall comply with the Georgia State Minimum Standard Plumbing Code and the Georgia State Minimum Energy Plumbing Code Domestic HW System Modifications: 1. Obtain all permits required per state fire safety commissioner. 2. Isolate tank and safe-off all power and water connections. 3. Disconnect all piping and controls for removal of tank. 4. Demolish tank. Provide all tools and equipment needed to remove tank in pieces through stairwells and elevators as needed. 5. Dispose of all demolished materials and sections of tank off-site. 6. Increase size of equipment pad as needed for installation of new tanks. 7. Install multiple, new tanks to provide a total minimum storage capacity of 750 gallons. See attached specification for tank requirements.(1) 8. Connect existing hot water outlet, boiler supply and return piping per the tank manufacturer recommendation and such that flow resistance through piping connections are equal for each tank. 9. Test and commission system as specified. 10. Insulate all new piping and repair any existing insulation damaged during this project with insulation matching the existing materials and thicknesses. 11. Obtain inspection per state fire safety commissioner. (1)New tanks must be able to be transported from ground floor to roof using existing freight elevator
