The work for which bids are being requested consists of the following: Widening construction of 16 th Street from Country Club Rd to Quarterline Rd. The work will include HMA cold milling, HMA surface removal, pavement removal, trench widening, aggregate base, HMA surfacing, concrete curb and gutter, concrete driveways, sidewalks and ADA ramps, storm sewer improvements, water main and services, permanent signs and pavement marking, and slope restoration. This work is intended to take place during the 2024 construction season. The bid also will include an alternative bid for cured-in-place pipe lining of 115 Ft of 18 inch storm sewer in lieu of replacement as called out on the plans at Sta. 20+60. Also includes a night paving alternate bid that will be an adjustment added to the contract if the City elects to award it. There are two construction schedules being proposed for the Contractor to provide pricing on and City will evaluate costs related to the construction schedules. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding. The use of local contractors and labor is encouraged. A certified check or bank draft drawn on a solvent bank in the State of Michigan payable without condition to the OWNER or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and a surety company, in an amount equal to 5 percent of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least ninety (90) days. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price. Bond forms are included in the Contract Documents
