A brief description of work in the project follows: Demolish existing unit ventilators, fans, piping, ceilings, lighting, in the Annex Building and AC unit and air handling unit in Media Center Building. Patch existing outside air louvers for old unit ventilators. Provide new unit ventilator units, fan coil units, ceilings, lighting, exhaust fans, roof mounted self-contained DX cooling fresh air units with energy recovery and associated air distribution throughout the Annex Building. Provide new chilled water and hot water piping and connect to existing mains in the Annex Boiler Room. Existing boiler and chiller plants with pumps are to remain will be used to provide chilled water and hot water to the new equipment. All responses to questions and addenda, will be posted on the Purchasing Department website at electronically. A 5% Bid Bond and 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds are required for this project. Provide new open protocol BACnet controls integrated with the existing system. The chilled water plant must remain in operation over the summer break. All work under this contract is to be included in a Single Prime contract to the successful bidder. Bidders must be properly licensed for the work in accordance with Section 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. Bidders must make a "good faith effort" to recruit minority participation and to meet district minority participation goals. The appropriate forms from the section entitled "Participation by Women and Minority Owned Businesses" must be submitted with each bid to show good faith efforts to obtain Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise participation. Minority businesses are encouraged to submit bids for this project. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids presented and to waive any informalities and irregularities.
