The Portage County Engineer will accept Letters of Interest for professional services for the design of the Newton Falls Road Bridge #131 Replacement (PAR 131, CH 177). The services include preparation of construction contract plans for replacement of Newton Falls Road Bridge No. 131 (SFN 6732569) in Paris Township. Work will include the improvement of 0.06 miles of Newton Falls Road by the replacement of an existing Steel Pony Truss structure with a new single-span superstructure and substructure including minimal approach work. The Letter of Interest shall contain a description of the qualifications of the firm and experience of the people who will be assigned to the project as instructed in the Letter of Interest Instructions . It is anticipated that the selected Consultant will be authorized to proceed by January 2024. The cost data to perform the work is not to be submitted at this time. Proposals will be evaluated based on the information submitted. The most qualified firm will be selected and asked to submit a detailed price proposal from which negotiations will begin to establish the parameters of a contract. If negotiations between the parties are not successful, the next most qualified firm will be selected and the process will be repeated until a contract agreement is achieved.
