Bids are invited for the TxDOT Widening US 77- Relocate Water Lines from Post Oak Road to Fayette-Lee County Line Project as described in the specifications, including new water lines, tie-ins, valves, meters, boring, brush clearing, and associated appurtenances. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally determined Department of Labor prevailing wage rates for Lee County, Texas contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age or national origin. The Corporation reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the Corporation for a period not to exceed seventy calendar (70) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. Pre-Bid Interviews will be conducted on October 31 and November 1-2, 2023. Conferences shall be set up in 1.5-hr increment sessions at 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:30 PM, and 4:00 PM to allow the Owner & Engineer to familiarize themselves with Contractor and explain Lee County WSC specifications & scope of work. Lee County WSC reserves the right to NOT accept any bids from any prospective Contractors who did NOT attend Pre-Bid Interview. The following contractors have done recent construction projects for Lee County WSC and therefore, do not need to attend pre-bid interview: Elliott Construction, Herschap Backhoe and Hobbs Construction. All CONTRACTORS are recommended to visit the waterline routes to familiarize themselves with the job site and project requirements.
