Whitehall Treatment Facility improvements. The Whitehall Treatment Facility Improvements will include the construction of an ion exchange (IX) treatment facility and some miscellaneous distribution system improvements. The treatment facility will include a new 60'X80' building and will utilize the two existing municipal wells as the source. The facility will include the necessary IX equipment, Sodim Hypochlorite storage/feed skid, bag filters, chorine contact tank, booster pumps, process piping, valves, and internal controls. SCADA improvements will be installed to control the well pumps and treatment facility booster pumps based on tank level. A security fence will be installed around the facility. Approximately 4,800 feet of raw water mains will be constructed between the existing wells and the new treatment facility. Approximately 1,400 feet of new treated water main will be connected to the distribution system. The new water mains will require 3 jack and bore crossing under the railroad tracks. The existing wells will be videoed and cleaned. Work in the two existing well houses will include replacing the well pumping equipment and interior pipping. The project will include abandoning asbestos concreate pipe in place and installing approximately 1,500 Feet of new 6" PVC water main.
