The City Desires to Obtain the Services of Outside Firms or Individuals to Help the City Develop Civil and Mechanical Engineering Design for Two Water Projects - Lake El Estero Stormwater Diversion to Sewer Project and the Olivier Street Stormwater Diversion to Sewer Project - With the Lake El Estero Project Having First Priority for Design and Scheduling, and the Olivier Project Having Second Priority for Design and Scheduling Purposes. Each Project Will Construct Storm and Sewer Improvements to Connect and Enhance the Existing Storm and Sewer Collections Systems to Allow the Conveyance of Freshwater From the Storm Drainage Collection System to Nearby Sanitary Sewer Collection System. Once Constructed, All Diversion Activities Will Be Jointly Managed by the City of Monterey and Monterey One Water as a Part of the Pure Water Monterey Project. Diversion Benefits Include Capturing a Portion of Urban Stormwater Currently Discharged to the Monterey Bay and Treating Those Flows via the Monterey One Water Regional Treatment Plant and Utilizing the Treated Waters to Augment Local and Regional Water Supply and Reuse Capacity. The proposal shall include a schedule to undertake the work program. The project is anticipated to start by February 1, 2024 and be completed by January 1, 2025. The City of Monterey ("City") is seeking proposals from qualified firms or individuals to provide Civil Engineering Design and Scientific Analytical services for two (2) urban stormwater diversion-to-sewer infrastructure projects - Lake El Estero Stormwater Diversion to Sewer Project and the Olivier Street Stormwater Diversion to Sewer Project - both within the City. The City is a charter city located in the County of Monterey.
