Repair approx. 115 feet of double Y ornamental block fence (Double Y ornamental block and mortar provided by the City of Sumter) and approx. 115 feet of footing. Also, approx 10 ea 8" x 16" columns. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any technicalities in the best interest of the City. Each Bid MUST be accompanied by certified check of the bidder, or a bid bond prepared on the Form of Bid Bond attached hereto, duly executed by the bidder as principal and having the surety thereon, a surety company approved by the Owner (City of Sumter), in the amount of 5% of the bid. Such checks, or bid bonds will be returned to all EXCEPT the three lowest bidders within three business days after the opening of bids, and the remaining cash, checks, or bid bonds will be returned promptly after the Owner and the accepted bidder have executed the contract, or if no award has been made within 60 days after the date of the opening of the bids, upon demand of the bidder at any time thereafter, so long as he has not been notified of the acceptance of his bid. Please do not submit cash as security. Provide materials and labor (Double Y ornamental block and mortar provided by City of Sumter) for: Approximately 115 feet of double Y ornamental block fence with standard 8"x16" block columns Wall height to be +/- 7 courses to match elevation of existing on each end. Wall to have consistent slope from end to end. Approximately 10 each 8"x16" columns with cap to match existing. Column heights to be as necessary to complement existing columns on each side. Approximately 115 feet of footing to support new block wall will be dug and poured according to code. +/- 3 trees along with underbrush will need to be removed to provide a clear path for the footing and block wall. Mortar to match existing. Interior and exterior of walls to be finished walls and tooled appropriately. Exterior of columns to be finished and tooled appropriately. All tree debris must be hauled off and disposed of properly. o All existing unusable blocks need to be disposed of properly. The Owner reserves the right to increase or decrease the amount of work under the Contract at the unit prices quoted in the bid received from the successful responder.
