The total estimated construction cost for the base bid Work for the Project for which the City is soliciting bids at this time is a Base Bid of $2,281,000.00 COMPLETION DATE: OCTOBER 1, 2024 Date for Substantial Completion. Each successful Bidder shall have its Work on the Project Substantially Complete (as Substantial Completion is defined in the Contract Documents)as follows: September 15, 2024 This Project is Heavy construction with an estimated cost Base Bid of $2,281,000.00, and the Bidder is required to comply with all applicable Ohio Prevailing Wage and labor laws for this Project. Bidders shall submit a list of available equipment, and labor shall be paid not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce for Lorain County. Bids must be accompanied by Certified Check or Cashiers Check or Letter of Credit equals to ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, or a bond for the full amount of the bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and a performance bond properly secured. Should any bid be rejected, such instrument will be forthwith returned upon proper execution of a contract. Cash deposits will not be accepted. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex or national origin. All bidders must comply with the provisions of the American Disabilities Act. All federal minority business enterprise and women business enterprise requirements shall be met. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of their project. The Project owner is the City of Lorain, Ohio. The Owners Representative is Safety/Service Director, Sanford Washington. Telephone: 440-204-2002; Email: sanford_washington@cityoflorain.org If a Bidder contemplating submitting a Bid for the proposed Project is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the Contract Documents, it may submit a written request for an interpretation thereof to City of Lorain, Engineering Department in writing on the form included with the Contract Documents. Inquiries shall be emailed to Nick_Murray@cityoflorain.org to the attention of Nick Murray. The City will make any interpretation of the proposed documents by Addendum only, duly signed by the City, and a copy of such Addendum will be mailed or delivered to each Bidder receiving a set of Contract Documents and where the City maintains the Contract Documents. The City will not be responsible for any other explanation or interpretation of the proposed documents. The Director of Safety/Service reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. At the completion of the project the contractor shall obtain and file the appropriate bond (at 10% of the projects final cost) with the Engineers office. No separate payment will be made for this bond and the cost shall be considered incidental to the project. The City reserves the right to disqualify Bids, before or after opening, upon evidence of collusion with intent to defraud or other illegal practices on the part of the Bidder No Bidder may withdraw its Bid within sixty (60) days after the date Bids are opened. The City reserves the right to waive any formalities or irregularities or to reject any or all Bids.
