Estimated Construction Cost: $900,000 The Town of Granby is soliciting sealed proposals from Massachusetts registered and qualified designer firms, pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 7C, 44 through 58, request for proposal for designer services for the renovation of the kitchen and the updating of the heating and ventilation of the kitchen and cafeteria wing at the Granby Junior/Senior High School. If, at the time of the scheduled opening, Town Hall is closed due to uncontrolled events such as fire, snow, ice, wind, or building evacuation, the bid opening will be postponed until 1:00 p.m. on the next business day. Bids will be accepted until that date and time. Any questions pertaining to the bid requirements or documents should be directed to Christopher Martin, Chief Procurement Officer at (413) 467-7177. A Certification of Tax Compliance/Non-Collusion, executed by an authorized agent of the bidder, must accompany all proposals. Any proposal that does not include this document, fully completed, will automatically be deemed non-responsive and will not be considered. Additional material may be included with the proposal. All proposals must provide all information and/or specifications outlined in Part II. The Designer selected will be responsible for providing full investigation, design, bidding and construction period services. The minimum scope of designer services shall include the following. Phase I: Kitchen and Cafeteria Wing Investigation 1. Review existing drawings, previous studies and documents. 2. Coordinate with environmental consultant to test kitchen and cafeteria wing for samples containing asbestos. 3. Provide a detailed review of the condition of the ventilation in the kitchen and cafeteria wing, including the electrical infrastructure and document existing conditions. 4. Prepare a brief report of findings with photographs, recommendations and cost estimates and required updates to ensure the space meets the standards of the Massachusetts State Building Code. 5. Provide presentation of findings to the Granby Public School Committee and the Town of Granby Select board. 6. Attend one public meeting to answer questions, if needed. Firms shall submit a scope of services to include start date and time frame for completion of design work, bidding phase and construction phase. The bid documents must be completed in sufficient time so as to accommodate a construction schedule of June 20, 2024 to October 18, 2024. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
