This start date will be the first charged day of contract. Upon receipt of Notice to Proceed, Contractor will use any remaining time before first charged day to finalize subcontractor contracts, develop and submit the schedule, and submittals for long lead items. Except for measuring controlling field dimensions and potholing/locating signal poles, do not start job site activities until the authorized requested start work date. Once a Notice to Proceed is issued, Contractor may start job site activities before authorized date if a notice is submitted 72 hours before starting If Contractor obtains authorization to start job site activities for the requested date, start job site activities on the requested date. If Contractor fails to submit a request for authorization to start job site activities as specified above or if the request is not authorized, first charged day shall be 15 working days after receiving Notice to Proceed or 40 working days after Notice of Award (whichever is earlier). However, if Contractor fails to provide Notice to Proceed documents as specified above, the first charged day shall then be 21st work day following the Notice of Award, regardless of authorized start date. Number of working days is to be considered all working days starting from first charge day to completion of project. Contractor shall submit a request in writing to the Project Engineer for all non-working days. The Project Engineer will review then approve or deny the request depending on project circumstances.
