For the removal of an existing roof and installation of a new spray polyurethane foam and silicone coating roofing system at the City of Florence Royal Avenue Recreation Center located at 421 N. Royal Avenue, Florence, Alabama. Proposals shall be accompanied by a bid bond or a cashier's check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price or $10,000 payable without recourse to the City of Florence, AL. Check or bid bond shall be provided as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within fourteen (14)days after Notice of Award. The successful bidder shall furnish a performance bond in the amount of I00% of the contract price and payment bond in the amount of 50% of the contract price upon the forms provided. Performance and Payment Bonds shall be from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Alabama to act as surety. Provide company name, address, telephone number, email address and General Contractor's license number in the email request. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Purchasing Agent; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The City may not enter into a contract with an entity which is not qualified to do business in the State of Alabama. All Bidders must possess all other licenses and/or permits required by applicable law, rule of regulation for the performance of the work. Pre-qualification of bidders is not required. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days from the date set for receiving the bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities in the bids and bidding deemed to be in the best interests of the Owner, and to reject non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional proposals.
