The work involves the removal and construction of concrete walking paths; replacing existing tennis courts lighting with new LED lighting system; furnishing and installing site amenities, Dial-A-Ride shade shelter, and solar power path lights; furnishing and installing precast concrete restroom building, providing minor parking lot signing and striping; upgrading existing ADA curb ramps connecting public sidewalks to park access walkways; modification of existing park landscape and irrigation system; and other improvements as indicated on the plans and specified in the specifications. Contractor shall coordinate the schedule for the installation of the tennis court lighting with the contractor for the Tennis/Pickleball Courts Improvements (Phase 2) and the City's representative and must compete the tennis court light foundation construction including the installation of the anchor bolts and base plate prior to the start of resurfacing of the Tennis/Pickleball Courts Improvements (Phase 2). SITE OF WORK: The site of the work is located in the Leroy Jackson Park limits. COMPLETION OF WORK: All work must be completed within One Hundred Twenty (120) working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed CONTRACTOR LICENSE CLASSIFICATION: The project will require the prime contractor to be in possession of a valid, appropriate State of California Contractor's License. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who is not duly licensed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 9, Division III of the Business and Professions Code. Bids will only be accepted from contractors holding a General Engineering Class A. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: Liquidated damages of One Thousand Five Hundred dollars($1500.00) per working day, as specified in the Special Conditions, shall be paid by the contractor to the City of Ridgecrest for each working day in excess of the time limit stated above that the project is not complete. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price payable to the City of Ridgecrest as a guarantee that the bidder, if its bid is accepted, will promptly execute the contract. PREVAILING WAGE: This work is subject to prevailing wage requirements and to monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The bidder and any subcontractorsshall be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations as a Public Works Contractor at the time of bidding and during the performance of the contract. The City of Ridgecrest reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality in a bid and to make awards to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it may best serve the interest of the owner.
