NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Electronic Bids will be received by the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority for all labor, material, insurance, and equipment necessary for the Maumee River Restoration Projects which are situated adjacent to the Walbridge Park, within the Maumee River, in the City of Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio., in accordance with the approved plans and specifications, for the Port Authority at One Maritime Plaza, Toledo, Ohio 43604. The Clark and Delaware/Horseshoe Islands Nutrient Reduction Wetland Restoration Project consists of Clark Island and the downstream portion of Delaware/Horseshoe Island and is being funded through an H2Ohio grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). The Delaware Islands Complex Restoration in the Maumee AOC Project consists of Delaware/Horseshoe Island and is being funded through a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative-Area of Concern (GLRI-AOC) grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Work activities include restoration of island wetlands and creation of protected open water habitat. The restoration will be primarily accomplished through the installation of a rock reef, island revetment and/or vegetated stone sill along the perimeter of the proposed Work areas; placement of backfill materials to support development of wetlands; contouring/grading and dredging within the open water and cove areas to create deeper water areas; relocation and placement of dredged material to restore island areas, incorporation of additional reef/island structures, gravel/cobble substrate, and woody habitat; invasive species management; and restoration planting and seeding. This project may be awarded by the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority at its sole discretion. The base bid H2Ohio Clark and Delaware-Horseshoe Islands engineer's estimate is approximately $6.2 million. Delaware Islands Complex Restoration in the Maumee AOC base bid is approximately $3.9 million. The engineer's estimate for the total project is approximately $10.1 million.
