any questions pertaining to the plans, specifications, and bid schedule for this project shall be submitted to the Department in a written format through the Bid Express (Bidx) website The proposed work is located in Navajo County on State Route 87 at milepost 374.94, approximately 33 miles north of City of Winslow within the Navajo Nation. The proposed work consists of removing and replacing the existing superstructure. The work also includes scour retrofit, paving both sides of the approach slabs, guard rail, seeding and other related work. This project is located on a Native American Reservation, in the Navajo Nation Reservation, which may subject the contractor to the laws and regulations of the Navajo Nation Reservation and its TERO office. Contractors are advised to make themselves aware of any taxes, fees or any conditions that may be imposed by the Navajo Nation Reservation on work performed on the Reservation. This project requires electronic bidding. If a request for approval to bid as a Prime Contractor is received less than 48 hours prior to bid opening, the Department cannot guarantee the request will be acted on. A proposal guaranty in the form of either a certified or a cashier's check made payable to the State Treasurer of Arizona for not less than 10 percent of the amount of the bid or in the form of a surety (bid) bond for 10 percent of the amount of the bid shall accompany the proposal. Surety (bid) bonds will be accepted only on the form provided by the Department and only from corporate sureties authorized to do business in Arizona. Bids will be received until the hour indicated and then publicly opened and read. No bids will be received after the time specified.
