Snow shall be loaded and removed from the entire traveled portion of the road (curb to curb) and from the area 0.5 m behind the curb when banks reach 1 m or greater in height. Removal operations shall continue around the corner to the projection of the property line as directed by the Roads Services Area Manager or designate. Snow shall be hauled and dumped at a City Snow Disposal Facility (SDF). There will be no fee charged to dump snow, but passes may be required and if so, they will be supplied by the City. The City will endeavour to direct the Contractors trucks to the nearest SDF to the work area. The City does not guarantee that the nearest SDF will be available for the entire winter season. The City shall advise the Contractor prior to each shift as to which SDF is to be used for that shift. Due to unforeseen circumstances, it may be necessary to change the SDF during a particular shift. The Contractor shall comply with the above requirements at no additional cost to the City. No stockpiling areas are available. The snow shall be loaded and removed immediately. Refer to Detailed Lane Maps for extent of work and additional requirements, if any. Snow removal operations shall commence within two (2) hours of being called to a location. Once snow removal operations begin, they must be completed within sixteen (16) hours per Roads Services Area.
