Rockbridge County is soliciting bids from qualified and licensed construction companies or individuals for construction of a new Solid Waste and Recycling Collection Center located at 31 Murat Road, Lexington, VA 24450. Construction of a new Murat Solid Waste and Recycling Center located at 31 Murat Road, Lexington, in Rockbridge County, Virginia, generally consisting of Grading and Surface Improvements, Storm Water Management and Erosion & Sediment Control, Site Features/Infrastructure, Security and Safety, Electrical, and Landscaping. Bid Security: A Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to the County of Rockbridge in an amount of five percent (5%) of Bidder s maximum Bid price and in the form of a certified check or a Bid Bond issued by a Surety authorized to conduct business in Virginia. the Successful Bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and a labor and material Payment Bond, with corporate surety satisfactory to the County, each in an amount equal to one hundred (100) percent of the contract amount The County will receive written requests for clarification or interpretation until, and no later than, 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2023. Responses from the County to a request for clarification or interpretation will be placed on the County website on or before 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2023. No pre-bid conference is scheduled. License Requirement: all firms doing business in the County of Rockbridge are required to be licensed in accordance with the County of Rockbridge business license ordinance. Wholesale and retail merchants without a business location in the County of Rockbridge are exempt from this requirement.
