This is the UBAS MM 13.0 to MM 26.8 project. The purpose of the project is to patch segments of I-35 in Sumner County, pave three KTA maintenance areas, and resurface I-35. The project runs the Turnpike from MM 13.0 in Sumner County to MM 26.8 and includes two maintenance yards, one in Sedgwick County (MM 52) and one in Butler County (MM 71). This project includes ultrathin bonded asphalt surfacing (UBAS), commercial grade asphalt patching, commercial grade asphalt surfacing, and all other work shown in the plans. PRE-QUALIFICATION. Bids will only be accepted by Contractors that are pre-qualified by the Kansas Department of Transportation. Proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of bid and made payable to the Kansas Turnpike Authority as guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and give a performance bond as required if awarded the contract. The award of each contract shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Standard Specifications of the Kansas Department of Transportation, edition of 2015, and will be based upon the summation of the products of the unit prices and the approximate quantities. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity therein, to determine which is the lowest responsible bid most suitable to the Authority.
