The Project includes the following Work: o Pour Slab, Install Piping, Enclosure, Test and Place into Service Two (2) New Groundwater Supply Wells. (Wells previously drilled & tested at Shine Well No. 1 and Jason Well No. 2) o Replace Hydropneumatic Storage Tanks at both Shine Well No. 1 and Jason Well No. 1 (including Disposal of existing tankage) o Install Two (2) New Well Control Systems complete with all piping, mechanical, electrical, SCADA, New Air Pressure Control Systems, and Emergency Standby Power systems with Automatic Transfer Switchgear. One at Shine Well No. 1 and one at Jason Well No. 1 o Replace approximately 20 EA 2-inch thru 6-inch Distribution System Gate Valves (w/ Box) o Replace approximately 5 EA 2-inch Blow-off Valve Assemblies o Replace approximately 280 existing water meters with New AMR Technology Residential Water Meters o Install Two (2) Bulk Meter Pits. One for the Shine Water System, one for the Jason System The Project has an expected duration of 180 days. This project is being funded through USDA - Rural Development project loan. Bidders must make positive efforts to utilize businesses owned by minorities and women. The Owner has developed a goal of ten percent (10%) for participation of minority-owned and women- owned business enterprises in construction contracts awarded pursuant to NCGS 143-128. Bidders must comply with the Owner's requirements for W/MBE documentation. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Bidders shall be properly licensed under Chapter 87, General Statutes of North Carolina. Small, minority and women's businesses and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit bids.
