Deadline 10/20/2023 at 10:00 AM CT of Work of the Contract Documents includes the following: Construction of Phase I Drainage Facilities and Mass Grading to serve Maple Woods Subdivision Construction Method The entire rough cut detention basins and fill areas shall have the existing top 4-inches of soil stripped and stockpiled. After completion of excavation of the detention ponds, the sideslopes above the proposed water level and the maintenance berm shall have the strippings spread over them prior to hydromulching and placement of the erosion control mats. Place compacted fill on properly cleared, stripped and prepared areas. Use suitable materials from excavation, borrow, or other designated or approved sources. Use material free from vegetation, roots, and debris. Construct fills in successive horizontal layers, extending across entire fill area. Fill should be placed in maximum 6-inch lifts (loose measure) and compacted to 95 percent of the maximum density per ASTM D-698 at a moisture content within +/- 2 percent wet of optimum. Each layer of fill to be uniform as to material, moisture, and density before compaction. Compact to required density by blading, rolling, and sprinkling with approved equipment. Finished compaction should be at least 95 percent of ASTM D-698 at 2 percent of optimum moisture content.
