The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Renovate Barrington Student Union project at the State University College at Potsdam The Project will provide a comprehensive renovation of the building including the replacement of all interior finishes, mechanical ductwork, electrical and plumbing systems and kitchen equipment. The Project will include the removal of hazardous materials and will meet current code and ADA requirements. An embedded program study for the building will be undertaken as part of the project, including and evaluation of the existing dining services across multiple buildings and where best to locate them in the future. Barrington Student Union provides meeting space for student associations and clubs general student activity space and includes dining services for students and faculty. Barrington Student Union, constructed in 1970, is an 76,340 GSF, two-story building. The interior spaces of the building are original, are at the end of their useful life, and need modernization to help attract and retain students, as well as improve the overall student experience. Replacement of the mechanical room equipment was completed in 2021 under SUCF project 121009. As such, the ductwork is only remaining HVAC component original to the building. The construction value is estimated at approximately $39,954,000.
