The Work Shall Consist of Furnishing and Installing One (1) Generator Along with Required Electrical Work, Elevated Platform, and Associated Work. Only the bids of contractors licensed under Louisiana Contractors Licensing Law will be considered for bids exceeding $50,000.00. Should the bid exceed $50,000.00, Contractors desiring to bid shall submit evidence that they hold license of proper classification under Building Construction or Installation of Equipment, Machinery, and Engines or Statewide Electrical Work, in full force and effect at the time Bidding Documents are requested from the office of the Engineers (LA R.S. 37:2163). The Contractor shall obtain, maintain during the life of the project, and provide to the Owner copies of the following bonds and policies which shall be obtained from surety companies, which appear on the U.S. Treasury Circular 570, licensed to do business in the State of Louisiana, in the amounts and for the purpose stated, and subject to the Owners approval: 1. Bid Bond: A Bid Guarantee equivalent to 5% of the bid price consisting of a firm commitment, such as a bid bond, certified check, cashiers check, money order, or other negotiable instrument shall accompany each bid as assurance that the bidder will, upon acceptance of his bid, execute such contractual documents as may be required and within the time specified. 2. Performance Bond: A performance bond of not less than 100% of the contract price shall be executed to assure the Contractors faithful performance of the contract. 3. Payment Bond: A payment bond of not less than 100% of the contract price shall be executed to assure payment as required by law of all persons supplying labor and material in the performance of the work provided by the contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause; such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within fortyfive (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Bidding Documents shall be available until 24hours before the bid opening date (R.S. 38:2212.G.(2)). This provision shall not be subject to waiver (LA R.S. 38:2215). The provisions and requirements of this section and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any entity (LA R.S. 38:2212). On other sets of documents furnished to Bidders, $5.00 shall be refunded upon return of the documents no later than 10days after receipt of bids (LA R.S. 38:2212). Bidders may also obtain an electronic copy of the bid documents from the Design Engineer. As an option to printed plans and specifications, parties may request and acquire an electronic (pdf format) set of plans, specifications, and bidding documents from the office of the Engineer at no cost. Plan holders are responsible for their own reproduction costs. The work to be performed under the various bid items for this contract shall include all plant, tools, supplies, labor, materials, equipment, superintendence, and incidentals which may be required for the construction unless otherwise specified for a particular bid item.
