The base bid of the project will include all labor, material, equipment, and supervision to perform the required work on this project. This work will be for the area labeled "BASE BID" on the project drawings. This work will include the following: 1. Remove wallpaper and paint canteen dining area (Rooms 2229 & 2230B). Approximately 1,822 SQ FT to include two door frames. 2. Renovate canteen dish room (Room 2231B) Page 6 of 66 a. Remove approximately 741 SQ FT of 1"x1" ceramic wall tile. Replace with 741 SQFT of 4'x4' ceramic wall tile. Color TBD upon award. Remove and replace one sink and one eyewash station, this is necessary to remove and replace the wall tile. b. Remove approximately 741 SQ FT of sheetrock c. Remove studs and replace with new d. Replace sheetrock with Durock or equivalent e. Remove and repair 3 ea 6" floor drains f. Remove 2 ea abandoned 1' copper lines. Lines to be removed under the floor, floor to be patched. Total length is approximately 20' g. Coat approximately 276 SQ FT of flooring with epoxy coating. 3. Remove and replace electrical power outlet for Dish machine (per product specs) in Dish Room (2231B). The contractor shall be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision needed to renovate canteen dish room and remove wallpaper, patch and paint the dining area per plans and specifications found in the SOW. RFI's due by October 26, 2023 at 11:00 am CDT. RFI's shall be submitted to horacio.fernandez@va.gov. RFI responses shall be published as an amendment to the solicitation by the close of business, October 31, 2023. Note: This requirement is set aside for SDVOSB's. In order to be eligible for award SDVOSB's must be registered and verified in the Vendor Information Pages (www.veterans.certify.sba.gov). Quotes are due no later than November 13, 2023 at 11:00am CDT. MAGNITUDE OF PROJECT: Between $100,000 and $250,000. Period of Performance: 90 Calendar days after Notice to Proceed The Contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days Performance and Payment bonds: Due 5 Calendar days after Notice of Award Proof of Insurance: Due (TBD by Contracting Officer) Calendar days after Notice of Award The Government reserves the right to refuse to permit employment on the work, or require dismissal from the work, of any subcontractor or subcontractor employee who, by reason of previous unsatisfactory work on Department of Veterans Affairs projects or for any other reason, is considered by the Contracting Officer to be incompetent, careless, or otherwise objectionable. Payment Bond The contractor shall be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision needed to renovate the canteen dish room and remove wallpaper, patch, and paint the dining area per plans and specifications found in the SOW. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
