Southfield Public Schools will be receiving sealed bids for "Asbestos Abatement Prior to Renovations at Morris Adler Elementary School." This project will be completed in November 2023, January and February 2024, prior to building renovation activities and will include the removal and disposal of asbestos floor tile, non-asbestos floor tile mastic, non-asbestos carpet, basketball backboards with asbestos coating, exterior windows with asbestos glazing, sinks with asbestos undercoating and tagged fired door materials. Contractors will meet with Arch Environmental Group project coordinators at the Main Entrance to Morris Adler Elementary School. Pre-bid meeting will take place in a classroom or Media Center. After review of specification, we will have a walk-through of planned abatement areas at Morris Adler Elementary School. Contractors are encouraged to accompany Arch Environmental Group on site walk through to review proposed work area. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept any item in the proposal, to accept or reject any or all proposals, to waive any part thereof or informalities, or for reasons of establishing uniformity, to award the contract to other than the lowest bidder. The Board reserves the right to split the proposal in any manner deemed to be in the best interest of the School District to include awarding the contract to multiple suppliers.
