Phase 1 Water Main & RR Crossing Improvements Est. Value: $ 890,000.00 Est. Completion Date: Nov. 22, 2024 This project is generally described as water main installation and road reconstruction: Along N 3rd St from Read St to Park Ave; along N 2nd St from Main St to North of Park Ave; along Park Ave from 3rd St to 1st St. The improvements in include approximately: 3,033 LF of Trenched 6" PVC Water Main; 266 LF of Trenched 6" DIP Water Main; 100LF of Trenchless 6" DIP Water Main; 193LF of Trenchless 6" DIP Encased Water Main; 535 TONS of HMA Pavement; 4 railroad crossing approaches; 33 SY of PCC Sidewalk; 39 SY of HMA Driveway; 69 SY of PCC Driveway; 59 LF of Storm Sewer. Other associated improvements include, fittings, appurtenances, traffic control, erosion control, surface restoration, and miscellaneous work necessary to complete the project. Work on the improvement shall be commenced any time after a written Notice to Proceed is issued, no earlier than April 1, 2024. The Notice to Proceed will be issued after the preconstruction conference, which is expected to occur in February 2024 prior to work commencing. The Contractor shall substantially complete the project by no later than October 25, 2024. Substantially complete shall be defined as all utility and grading construction being completed, with the new infrastructure being tested and put into service, including water main, storm sewer, new streets, driveways, and sidewalks fully open to traffic. Should the Contractor fail to substantially complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of $1,000.00 per calendar day will be assessed for work not completed within the designated Contract term(s). The Contractor shall fully complete the project by no later than November 22, 2024. Fully complete shall be defined as all surface restoration being completed, and all improvements being ready for final acceptance. Should the Contractor fail to fully complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of $500.00 per calendar day will be assessed for work not completed within the designated Contract term(s).
