SOS is seeking architectural and engineering services in Springfield, Illinois for various small to medium scope professional design, survey, scope writing, and construction contract administration. Vendors must be a full discipline firm or demonstrate contractual relationships with other A/E firms to cover all disciplines, except environmental. The Secretary of State's Office maintains and performs permanent improvements to the 20+ buildings under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of State in Springfield and Chicago. Many times, A/E services are required to aid in the development of scope and manage smaller projects. Examples of projects may include, but not be limited to, structural remodels, life/safety upgrades, general construction, HVAC upgrades, plumbing, or parking lots & concrete. SCOPE OF A/E WORK: Perform field surveys/develop program analysis. Help to prepare scopes of work and bid documents. Collect and examine all existing plans and specifications of the existing facility and grounds as they pertain to specific projects. Provide detailed and prioritized lists of recommended corrections or repairs to any issues identified. Meet with SOS staff to discuss problems and issues as well as recommendations. Prepare estimates of probable repair and construction costs. Provide construction administrative services which may include pre-bid, pre-construction, and on-site monthly observation and pay progress meetings. Provide as-built final PDF plans to SOS at completion. Provide substantial completion and close-out documents. Ensure each project assigned adheres to all state and federal rules and regulations.
