The work of constructing Lift Station Improvements will be let under one Contract. The principal items of work are detailed herein below. Principal Work: 1. Jackson Springs Lift Station 2. Talladega Street Lift Station 3. Industrial Park Lift Station 4. Highway 49 Lift Station 5. Big Springs Lift Station 6. Highway 48 Lift Station 7. Highway 9 Lift Station The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to accept any bid considered advantageous to the Owner. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond for one hundred (100%) percent of the bid amount and a Payment Bond for one hundred (100%) percent of the bid amount, and must secure his bond from a bonding company's representative or agent in the State of Alabama. The Contractor shall obtain and pay for all licenses and permits required by the State, County, and City authorities having jurisdiction over the various phases of the Work. The Contractor is hereby advised that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE on this project and that the contract time of 270 consecutive calendar days and noted restrictions shall be strictly observed. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES WILL BE ASSESSED IF THE CONTRACT TIME IS EXCEEDED. The Contractor may apply for an extension of time in accordance with the provisions of the contract; however, such an extension must be approved prior to the contract completion date to avoid the imposition of liquidated damages.
