Description of proposal: The proposed project will replace the existing concrete and HDPE culverts (measuring 36-inches in diameter and 50-feet in length, and 24-inches in diameter and 46-feet in length, respectively), with a 30-foot span structure to improve fish passage while providing a safe roadway for the traveling public. This proposed structure is designed to meet the requirements of the federal injunction utilizing the bridge design criteria outlined in the 2013 WDFW Water Crossing Design Guidelines (WCDG). The structure is in Mason County approximately 1.2 miles southeast of Allyn, WA in Water Resource Inventory Area (WRIA) 15. The highway runs north-south at this location, while Victor Creek generally flows east-west beginning approximately 1.25 miles upstream of the SR 302 crossing. Victor Creek flows into North Bay approximately 520 feet from the SR 302 crossing, Proponent: Washington State Department of Transportation Location of proposal: SR 302: Milepost (MP) 4.13-4.25. The culvert passing Victor Creek under SR 302 is located at MP 4.2. The project is in Section 28, Township 22 north, Range 1 west, Willamette Meridian. Located in Mason County. Lead Agency: Washington State Department of Transportation, Olympic Region The lead agency for this proposal has determined that it does not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030(2)(c).
