Work services for BC Timber Sales (BCTS), Bulkley spring tree planting will consist primarily of straight plants at a target density of 1800 stems/ha. There are 8 blocks planned for within this contract, administered by BCTS. Please refer to the General Location map. A couple blocks are close to 100ha in size, the rest are smaller, between 17-45ha. Total tree allocation for the Bulkley planting contract is estimated at 711,900 spring seedlings. The anticipated field start date of the Bulkley spring planting season is tentatively scheduled for May 1st, 2024, with a required completion date of June 21st, 2024. Further to these dates, the expectation shall be that at least half of the spring plant will be completed within the month of May, in-order to take advantage of increased soil moisture to maximize survival of planted seedlings. Approximately 35,000 Lw seedlings will be Iwrap stock (PSI 410). All contract related questions must be submitted in writing ONLY to the following email address: Forests.BabineTimberSalesOffice@gov.bc.ca. Deadline for receiving questions is 3:00 pm on October 31, 2023. If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by November 1, 2023.
