The cash, cashier's check, certified check or Surety Bond of the successful bidder will be forfeited to the District if the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into the required contract within ten days after written notice that the contract has been awarded to him, her or it for the work. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond, both of which must be in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price. The successful bidder may elect to deposit securities with the District in lieu of having funds withheld by the District to ensure performance under the bid contract, in accordance with Section 22300 of the California Public Contract Code. Proposals must be based on the payment of not less than the prevailing rate of wages for this locality and project as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to California Labor Code Section 1770 et seq. Copies of the prevailing rates of per diem wages are on file at the District office and will be made available to any interested party on request The successful bidder must be licensed in accordance with the provisions of the Business and Professions Code and shall possess a State Contractor's License Class "C10 (Electrical Contractor)" at the time of bid submittal. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who is not licensed in accordance with the provisions of the laws of the State of California relating to the licensing of contractors.
