The owner has determined a prequalified list of design build companies. As of February 27, 2024, selection has not been made yet. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Hillsborough County is soliciting design-build services for the proposed new Fire Rescue/Emergency Management Warehouse and associated site development within a +-27.4-acre vacant parcel under acquisition, located on Columbus Drive south of the existing Public Safety Operations Complex. The Project includes the design and construction of a new warehouse complex which will consolidate various storage and related office support functions currently located at other County facilities, including Logistics Warehouse, Special Operations Warehouse, Emergency Management shelter kit storage, surplus commodity storage, and other compatible uses as budget allows. The facility will include an initial approximate 43,000 gross square foot, partially conditioned high-bay warehouse building and mezzanine, with add alternates for an expansion to an approximate 57,000 gsf building and 72,000 gsf with interior build-out for related office support areas. Exterior development will include an expandable chiller plant, generators, utilities and driveway connections, plus exterior storage, loading bays and parking. The facility shall be designed to with standa Category 5 storm event (200 mph wind speed), be self-sustaining and support round-the-clock operations during a severe weather event activation or related need. The initial documents provided herein are conceptual in nature and intended to illustrate the general need. Final Completions July 31, 2026 The County reserves the right to negotiate any element of the proposals in the best interest of the County. A proposal bond will be required during Step 2 in the amount of 5% of the proposers submitted GMP and will be required to comply with the Countys Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action and Disadvantaged Minority/Disadvantaged Women Business Enterprise (DM/DWBE) requirements. The established goal for DM/DWBE participation is 20%. All questions relatedto this RFP must be submitted in writing via themessage portal in the Countys electronic bidding system(Bonfire). Inquires must be received no later than fourteen (14) calendar days after the date of Solicitation issuance in Bonfire, site visit, or pre-proposal conference, whichever is later.
