The work shall consist of installing a new 6 water main to replace existing 2 main on E Magee St. between Briggs St. and Lee Rd. Additionally, new fire hydrants shall be installed at intervals and locations along Magee St. in accordance with the City of Covingtons fire code. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the form of certified check, cashiers check, or Bid Bond as prescribed by LA RS 38:2218.A.C, in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount bid and payable without conditions to the Owner as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will promptly execute a Contract in accordance with his proposal and all terms and conditions of the Contract Documents. The outside envelope in which the bid is placed must be clearly marked as follows. The Contractor shall hold a valid Louisiana Contractors license in the Municipal and Public Works Construction Classification. INCLUDE: Contractors name, address, and Louisiana state contractors license number It is requested, but not mandatory, that the entire bid package be submitted in duplicate. Duplicate copy can be a photocopy. All applicable laws, ordinances, and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over construction of the project shall apply to the Contract throughout.
