CUSD#7 is seeking bids for: Unity East and Unity West gym flooring removal and replacement. Prevailing wage guidelines must be met. Company must provide proof of insurance and be bonded. Please contact Andrew Larson, Superintendent of Schools, with questions and to get a copy of the scope of the project (217-485-6510) or at larsona@unity.k12.il.us. o Removal of existing floor in both elementary cafeteria/gym areas at Unity East and Unity West Elementary buildings. This would include detaching and moving the bleachers from the wall and once new flooring is in place, to be moved back and reattached to the wall. Bleachers should work as they did prior to this project once completed. Cove base will also need to be removed and area prepped to replace cove base once new flooring is installed. o Work cannot begin in either of the buildings until May 28, 2024. Work will need to be completed by July 15, 2024 at both facilities. o It will be the awarded bidder's responsibility to remove all existing flooring material from the job site. o The specific flooring that will be used for this job is: MONDO ADVANCED NEW GENERATION, L70 Light Grey 8 mm. There are no exceptions but to use this specific flooring to replace existing. The net square footage for each gym is 6500 sq. ft. o After existing flooring and cove base is removed it is the approved bidder's responsibility to prep the surface for the new flooring to be installed. o All logos and lines that are on existing floor will need to be added after the new floor is installed, (see diagram) o Any damages to proper that are caused by the removal or install at either elementary building are the responsibility ofthe awarded bidder. o Standard 4" black vinyl cove base will need to be installed after floor install. o To be considered as the possible awarded bid contractor, all bidders must attend a pre-bid meeting at Unity West Elementary, 1035 CR 600 N Tolono, IL 61880 on November 1, 2023 at 9:15 a.m. o Assess flooring subsurface for moisture content and work with school district on possible addition of a moisture barrier coating prior to install ofnew flooring surface. o All workers must be cleared on contractor's end to work in a school setting. o You will have access to one restroom facility adjacent to the gym.
