San Juan County is seeking a contractor to perform plant maintenance services, to include weed whacking, cutting, and removal of Himalayan blackberry, as well as hand-pulling and removal of noxious weeds, from a series of ditch and storm drains spanning approx. 4,000 feet between Fisherman Bay Road, Eads Lane, and Weeks Road in Lopez Village, as well as general landscaping maintenance around the parking area and boat launch areas of the Mackaye Harbor County Marine Facility at the end of Norman Road, all located on Lopez Island. This is a limited public works contract solicitation, estimated to cost less than $35,000.00. Payment of prevailing wages and the associated intent/affidavit/payroll filings with the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) are required. Contract Term: October 2023 to December 31, 2024. Oral explanations, interpretations, or instructions given by anyone before the award of a contract will not be binding on San Juan County. Any information given to a prospective bidder concerning any of the bid documents will be furnished to all prospective bidders as an Addendum, if that information is deemed by the County to be necessary in submitting bids or if the County concludes that the lack of the information would be prejudicial to other prospective bidders. San Juan County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in the best interest of the County. Bids will be subject to review and compliance with specifications. This County funded contract for landscape maintenance services is subject to Chapter 39.12 RCW, Prevailing Wages on Public Works San Juan County is not requiring a bid guarantee for participation in this Limited Public Works bid opportunity. The Payment and Performance Bond requirements of RCW 39.08.10 and the Retainage requirements of RCW 60.28.011 may be waived for this Limited Public Works contract, in accordance with RCW 39.04.155(3)(b) and San Juan County Code 3.24.073.
