The University has begun theimplementation of convertingtheir existing 5KV undergrounddistribution system to a 15KV.This system will consist of new15KV service and installationof 3 loop distribution elements.Presently completion of new15KV main service and underground duct, cable, and transformers are being completed toform Loop #1. This project, Phase III, consistsof the installation of the underground infrastructure to supportthe installation of transformerswitches and cabling for PhaseIV completion of Loop #2. The project includes, but is notlimited to, selective demolition,new construction of a loop. Utility relocation and extensions,erosion and sediment control,miscellaneous sitework, supervision of the Work of the project,and all related work, as indicated on the Bid and ConstructionDocuments. Contractors must be a licensedelectrical contractor along withhaving a general contractors license in the state of Alabama. Contractors bidding on theproject must provide proof ofin-depth experience with 15KVunderground power system, atleast 4 projects in the past 3years of similar work. A cashier's check of bid bondpayable to the University ofMontevallo, in an amount notless that five percent (5%) ofthe amount of the bid, but in noevent more than $10,000, mustaccompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and statutory Labor and Material Payment bonds, and insurance incompliance with requirements, will be required at the signing ofthe Contract. Contractors who obtain plans that do not meet pre-qualified requirements for bidding will be refunded their deposit in full upon return of documents in good condition within ten (10) days of bid date. Other sets for Contractors, and sets for subcontractors and dealers, maybe obtained with the same deposit, which will be refunded as above, less cost of printing, reproduction, handling and distribution, which is estimated to be the same as the deposit amount. The substantial completion datewill be August 9, 2024. Bids must be submitted onproposal forms contained inthe Bidding Project Manual,or original copies thereof. Allbidders bidding in amountsexceeding that established bythe State Licensing Board forContractors must be licensedunder the Provision of Title 34,Chapter 8, Code of Alabama,1975, as amended and mustshow such evidence of licensebefore bidding or bid will not bereceived or considered by Engineer or Owner; the bidder shallshow such evidence by clearlydisplaying their current licensenumber on the outside of thesealed envelope in which theproposal is delivered and on the Proposal Form. The Owner reserves the right to reject any orall proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner'sjudgement, the best interests ofthe Owner will thereby be promoted.
