INSTALLATION OF HVAC UNITS at Whippoorwill Hills Apartments, Sanders Circle/ Sailing St., Duffield, Virginia 24244 The project generally consists of removing existing baseboard heat in fourteen (14) apartment units (Base Bid), twelve (12) apartment units (Additive Bid Item #1), fourteen (14) apartment units (Additive Bid Item #2) and installing a like number of split system heat pumps with new ducting and incidental work such as furring ceilings to conceal ductwork and inserting a return air grille into an existing stile and rail door. Bid security is required to be submitted with each Bid in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid. Bid security may be in the form of a certified check or a bid bond secured by a surety company. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount will be required on this project. The Contractor shall also provide Liability Insurance coverage for the value of this HVAC contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding. A. Use of Site: Limit use of premises to work in areas indicated. Do not disturb portions of the site beyond the areas in which the Work is indicated. B. Roads, Driveways, and Entrances: Keep roads and entrances serving the premises clear and available to the Owner, Owner's employees, emergency vehicles, and the public at all times. Do not use these areas for parking or storage of materials. 1. Schedule deliveries to minimize use of roads and entrances. 2. Schedule deliveries to minimize space and time requirements for storage of materials and equipment on-site. C. Use of Existing Building: Maintain existing building in a weathertight condition throughout construction period. Repair damage caused by construction operations. Protect building and its occupants during construction period. D. Full Owner Occupancy: The Owner and tenants will occupy the site, buildings, and living units during the entire construction period. Cooperate with the Owner during construction operations to minimize conflicts and facilitate Owner and tenant usage. Perform the Work so as not to interfere with Owner's or tenant's operations. Closure of entrances and exits shall not be permitted at any time. Scheduling of work operations or material deliveries during hours outside the designated work hours shall be approved in advance by the Housing Authority. Signs and barricades shall be placed to clearly designate routes for safe passage by tenants, visitors, and the general public
