Digester Sludge Recirculation Pump Replacements at South Shore Water Reclamation Facility The project contemplated consists of replacement of 10 dry-pit screw-centrifugal digester sludge recirculation pumps and associated equipment. The equipment is located within the Digester Gallery (Building 353) of the South Shore Water Reclamation Facility (SSWRF). The Bid consists of the following work in general: Remove 10 existing digester sludge recirculation pumps, motors, belt drives, and belt drive guards. Store belt drive guards for reuse. Remove and discard existing flexible couplings on suction and discharge pump flanges. Remove digester no. 8 sludge recirculation pump base plate. Furnish and install a new digester no. 8 sludge recirculation pump base plate. Epoxy coat the new digester no. 8 base plate and the remaining nine sludge recirculation pump base plates. Furnish and install 10 new sludge recirculation pumps, motors, and belt drives on the base plates. Reinstall belt drive guards. Furnish and install new flexible couplings on suction and discharge pump flanges and connect to existing piping. Connect new electrical motors to existing electrical supplies. Balance and align the new pumps, motors, and belt drive systems. Complete 7-day test run on each pump. Other work as described in the specifications and as necessary to complete the project.
