The City of City of Eureka (the "City") is accepting sealed bids for the Lake Eureka Trails Project, which includes earthwork, grading, shaping, compaction for the construction of 8' wide limestone trails north of Lake Eureka. Work includes the required layout coordination for the installation of limestone trails, installation of distance marker signs and signs of educational information relating to the surrounding ecosystems. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, waive technicalities and select a bid that meets the specifications required by the City. All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois law requiring the payment of current prevailing wages to all laborers, workers and mechanics, as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor, and the record keeping, submission and inspection requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, including the requirement for submission of certified payroll records. All bidders must also comply with the Illinois statutory requirements regarding labor, including equal employment opportunity laws. This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, "Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development" (OSLAD) grant program. The City of City of Eureka encourages "minority" business firms to submit bids on the project and successful contract bidders to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services and construction. Contract Award is expected to be on November 20th, 2023.
