Unlike the existing generator, the new generator will be located outside the building. The installation of the new generator can mostly be done while keeping the existing generator functional, so as to avoid the prolonged need for a temporary generator. The gas meter as well as the main gas source that will power the new generator are existing and located next to the proposed location, which facilitates supply. This installation must comply with the code National Standard of Canada CSA C282 2019 - 7.3.7 and CSA B149.1:20 - 7.2.3, therefore the natural gas supply to the generator is arranged in such a way as to that the natural gas supply serving other appliances can be shut off without interrupting power to the emergency generator.
