The District is inviting bids to repair a damaged levee located on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton (MCBCP) at an infiltration basin next to the Santa Margarita River referred to as "Pond 4." The work generally consists of reconstructing approximately 100 linear feet of levee located in recharge Pond 4. The repair will require approximately 2,000 cubic yards (CY) of material, to be sourced from a borrow area located within 1/3 mile of the repair site. Additional required materials such as geotextile fabric, culverts, and rip-rap will be supplied by MCBCP and are stockpiled within a mile of the repair site. Additional project requirements include geotechnical testing, additional levee and road repair in nearby locations, and biological monitoring and mitigation. The construction estimate for this project is approximately $300,000. Award of Contract: District shall award the Contract for the Project to the lowest responsible bidder as determined from the base bid alone by District. District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process The successful bidder must submit a Performance Bond equal to 100% of the contract price prior to execution of the Contract. Also, if a contract awarded to the successful bidder will exceed $25,000, a Payment Bond equal to 100% of the contract price must also be submitted to the District prior to execution of the Contract. All bonds are to be secured from a surety that meets all of the State of California bonding requirements, as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and is admitted by the State of California.
