The intent of this solicitation is to provide for necessary repairs/pump discharge pipe replacement at the Valley Ranch Lift station located at 400 Avenue of Champions, Irving, TX 75063. The intent of this solicitation is to provide for necessary repairs/pump discharge pipe replacement at the Valley Ranch Lift station located at 400 Avenue of Champions, Irving, TX 75063. PLEASE NOTE: the address doesn't show up correctly on navigation apps. The lift station is on the south side of Avenue of Champions, approximately 100 yards east of the intersection of N MacArthur Blvd and Avenue of Champions The work includes replacing two 6-inch pump discharge pipe sections penetrating the wet well wall with new 6-inch ductile iron pipe suitable for wastewater service. B. The wet well wall shall be repaired to provide a structurally sound and watertight penetration after the pipe is replaced. C. The discharge pipes are buried approximately 7-feet deep. Sections of the 6" thick, reinforced concrete driveway may need to be removed to access the pipes. The excavated area shall be backfilled, and the driveway shall be repaired to existing or better conditions. The driveway shall be repaired at with a minimum 3,000 psi concrete and reinforcement matching the size and spacing of the existing driveway. D. The lift station includes a gravity bypass. The City of Irving intends to utilize this bypass while the work is being completed so no bypass pumping will be required. E. The discharge pipes are located inside a wastewater lift station wet well. The facility will have active wastewater flowing through the wet well throughout the course of the work. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing any forced air, self-contained breathing apparatus, air monitoring, and confined space entry equipment as necessary to safely perform the work inside the wet well. The Contractor shall attend one site visit with City of Irving personnel prior to beginning work. G. The Contractor shall notify City of Irving upon discovery of additional repair work not covered in the scope, for City of Irving approval. H. The Contractor is responsible for properly disposing of the old pipe segments and any other equipment, parts, or materials that need to be removed to complete the wor The City of Irving is aware of the time and effort bidders spend in preparing and submitting bids.
