The work of the prime Contract comprises the complete installation of the Waterline Metering, located in Gallitzin Township, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. The Gallitzin Water Authority maintains easements along all of the existing waterlines within its distribution system. The placement of the meters will be directly on top of the waterlines and well within the existing easement. The majority of the land is owned by Gallitzin Borough, and one meter reading station will be located on private property, within the existing pipeline easement. Attached to the submission are Landowner consent letter for the properties. The Waterline Metering project will consist of the installation of metering stations located strategically throughout the Gallitzin Water Distribution System to allow the Authority to identify high water loss areas quickly and efficiently. This will be done by purchasing 1 permanent meter and 2 temporary meters and installing 9 metering sites. The distribution system can be split into 2 areas: the Amsbry Feed and the Gallitzin Feed. The permanent meter will be placed on the Amsbry line near the treatment plant to act as a baseline for the Amsbry feed. A metering station will then be placed at the other end of the line near Amsbry. The Gallitzin feed will consist of metering stations placed around the existing storage tanks with the existing effluent meter at the plant acting as the baseline. These stations will monitor the water use between the 3 tanks and their distribution areas. The two portable meters can then be moved between meter sites to routinely check for leaks between meters. Engineer's Estimate is between $90,000-$120,000. Questions on the Bid Are accepted in writing only up until 7 days to the date of the Bid Opening. All questions should be directed to Tyler Nesbella, phone 814.419.7871, email: tnesbella@transystems.com.
