The road is identified as a regional bike route in the Kitsap County Non-Motorized Facility Plan. Glenwood Road SW provides a vital link between the southwest portion of Kitsap County and Port Orchard, Bremerton, and the Tacoma area. Kitsap County received a County Road Administration Board Rural Arterial Program grant for Glenwood Road SW that will help fund the pavement overlay of the travel lanes, widen and pave the gravel shoulders, construct new ditches and bioretention facility, replace the existing 60-inch diameter CMP arch culvert with a fish passable three-sided concrete box culvert, and install centerline and edge line rumble strips to reduce roadway departure crashes . The project will require additional Right of Way (ROW) acquisition from parcels 332301-3-022-2007, 332301-3-002-2001, 332301- 3-017-2006, 332301-2-022-2009, 332301-2-020-2001, and 332301-2-007-2008. Site work requires a Site Development Activity permit, guided under permit 22-05020.
