The Mercer County Commission is accepting sealed bids for improvements to an existing hiking trail known as the Brush Creek Trail. The trail length is approximately (2) two miles. The trailhead is located off of County Route 3 in Mercer County, West Virginia on property owned by the State of West Virginia and The Nature Conservancy. The trail follows Brush Creek, passes an overlook area at Brush Creek Falls, continues north following Brush Creek to its confluence with the Bluestone River, then continues east following the Bluestone River to White Oak Creek where the trail ends. Trail upgrades will be limited to areas where conditions exist such as uneven trail surface, large stone removal, drainage crossing the trail, wet/soft trail surface and fallen trees blocking the trail. No large-scale trail reconstruction is included in the plans The Mercer County Commission does not discriminate against faith-based organizations in accordance with President's Executive Order No. 11246, which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. The Mercer County Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids if it appears in its best interest to do so
