The improvements at the North Maple Street Storm Vault Reconstruction involves the exact in kind reconstruction of an irregularly-shaped concrete storm chamber, with overall dimensions of approximately 13 feet by 20 feet, and an approximate depth of 6 feet, located on the north west corner of North Maple Street and East Broad Street (County Route 518) that serves as the junction for two 85" x 54" elliptical corrugated metal storm pipes and a 12" reinforced concrete drain pipe with an existing 11'-wide by 3.67' tall concrete drainage culvert. The work involves excavation and complete removal of the damaged structure; constructing repairs to the existing concrete structure foundation and floor slab; constructing new concrete block structure walls, inplace matching the dimensions of the existing structure; securing the new structure walls to the existing pipe and culvert penetrations; installing a new pre-cast concrete top slab; backfilling and restoration of the existing grounds; and other incidental work for a complete restoration of the area. Construction shall be completed within 90 calendar days from the issued Notice to Proceed. Funding for the project is sourced, in part, with emergency reimbursement funds issued through the US Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and is subject to inspection and compliance with the applicable standards of that agency. Bidders and their listed subcontractors must be registered with the N.J. Department of Labor and Workforce Development pursuant to P.L.1999, c.238 (N.J.S.A. 34:11- 56.49 et seq.) and the N.J. Department of Treasury pursuant to section 1 of P.L.2001, c.134 (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44). Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-2.1 et seq. Bids shall be submitted on the form(s) provided, completed in accordance with the specifications contained in the Instructions to Bidders and other bidding documents. See required document checklist on pages 5-6. Each proposal must be accompanied by a guarantee in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond for not less than 10% of the amount of the bid, but not to exceed $20,000.00, payable to the Borough of Hopewell, and a Consent of Surety from a surety company stating that it will be bound to furnish performance and payment bonds as required in the Instruction to Bidders. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. Sealed bids may be sent via U.S. mail or delivery service or delivered in person to Borough Hall using the same instructions as immediately above.
