The desire for the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe (UMUT) is to create a full-service grocery store / food market that could become the pillar of food security for the UMUT people and assist in buttressing against declining population trends that have occurred over the past 20 years. Due to the cost to build the full-service grocery store and the Ute Mountain Ute Tribes limited available operating funds, the UMUT is proposing to develop a shipping container food and economic incubator hub to launch and grow many of the businesses that could later become pillars of the future grocery store. This project, called FEED Towaoc (FEED stands for Food Entrepreneurs as Economic Development) has the potential to become a hub of healthy food, workforce job training, and entrepreneurship development, providing space for food production, retail, and classroom/meeting space for participants to attend business development courses. This contract is for the general contractor with scope to include site grading, drainage, routing utilities, water and sewer line installation, concrete foundation installation, placing shipping container modules (fabrication/buildout of containers done by others), connecting all the shipping container modules to site utilities, parking lot construction, installation of finished surfaces (i.e., sidewalk, curb and gutter, retaining walls, bollards, erosion control measures). Contact information and submittal procedures for such questions are as follows: A. Kate Kowalski (Kate.Kowalski@horrocks.com), Heather McDaniel Heather.Mcdaniel@horrocks.com), and Tim Reinen (tim@reinenconsulting.com), and submit via a Bidding Documents Website.
