The District wishes to add two school Additions at two Elementary schools (1 per site). The sites include: David Cameron Elementary, located at 675 Meaford Rd, in the City of Colwood; and Ruth King Elementary, located at 2764 Jacklin Rd, in the City of Langford. The intention is to design, fabricate and install a "6 Classroom Modular" complete with: 6 General Instruction Spaces (~80m2 each); Washrooms (per BCBC); Storage (~5m2); Custodial (~6m2); Server Room (~5m2); Special Education (~20m2); Prep Space (~10m2); Mechanical (~5m2); and Project Space: Flexible common area; Ideally general instruction teacher can see students in this area; and Space to accommodate 4-6 students The "6 Classroom Modular" would repeat on both sites; however the Ruth King Elementary site would include an additional 4 classroom pod consisting of: 4 General Instruction Spaces (~80m2 each); Additional washrooms as required by BCBC; and Project space if possible (as defined above). To clarify: The addition at David Cameron Elementary would include a 6-classroom addition; The addition at Ruth King Elementary would include a 10-classroom addition (with the 6-classroom portion identical to David Cameron Elementary); After successful completion of Phase One, the intention is for the successful Proponent to fully execute the project including the fabrication, installation and all associated site works as detailed in the OSR. The construction methodology would be modular construction and the Additions must: Meet Part 3 of the British Columbia Building Code ("BCBC") and include any BCBC updates prior to the submission of the Building Permit applications to the respective Authorities Having Jurisdiction; Meet all building requirements necessary for a permanent structure, including seismic requirements; and Be designed to be 2-storey ready to support potential future addition(s).
